Why I'm hooked on Infomercials...

I am dangerously close to buying the following items off TV. I'd like to hear from folks who have bought any of these things - did you like them, did they stand up to your expectations?
Number One: Bump It Hair Thingy.
Does this work? Can you see it? Does it stay on your head? Could you dance in it?

Next, The Snuggie - It is better than a blanket? How is this different from putting on an extra large robe backwards?
Also, the perfect sandwich maker thingy...this looks amazing! Not only makes perfect sandwiches but burritoes and CAKE! It's a three-course meal in one machine....AWESOME!!!

And, while we're at it. Any thoughts on The Slider Station, Point and Paint, or Sham WOW?

Brian is hynotized by the Shamwow guy. Loves his voice or something. Logan asks for the snuggie every time he sees the comercial. It must run in the genes!

I have not used any of these things, but if you get one I'd be interested in hearing too. Nate and I have decided the snuggie makes people look like members of a cult. But the sandwich maker thingy makes my mouth water every time I see that commercial! I just wonder how much I'd really use it.

That bumpit thing is hilarious. I just went and watched the infomercial.

My thoughts on the products, though I have experience with only one (Shamwwow):
1. I have never seen the Bumpit, but it looks pretty neat. I imagine it wouldn't work with my fine hair, as I wouldn't be able to keep it hidden. But your thick hair may work with it.
2. I think the snuggie looks too long and awkward. I think one would trip over it often. Also, ginormous sleeves would be in the way. Plus, does it cover your back? They never say/show, but if not then it would really only work sitting with your back to something. No better than a blanket and a sweater in my opinion.
3. We never use our sandwich maker but mostly because we forget we have it.
4. I think the slider thing looks neat. Travis really likes the idea. I just wonder how often you make hamburgers? Maybe more often if you had this thing? I dunno.
5. If you look closely on the point n' paint commercial, it doesn't reeally get close enough to the edge. I think you would still need to remove fixtures and going along doorframes will not come out perfect. Not to mention how small it is. You can cover much more space with little effort with a roller.
6. Do NOT be duped by the shamwow. Niki and Sean bought it for my parents two Christmases ago. Niki tried to do the guys demonstration (she even had a carpet piece) but it didn't work as well. Granted it may just take practice because it certainly seems to work when the guy does it live, but really, I think it is no better than a towel or a normal shami you can get at Wal-Mart. Also, some guy told Travis he bought the set and still is trying to find a use for them.

Now that I just wrote the eternal comment and I am sure you really wanted my opinion, I think that covers it. I love watching infomercials too and am always amazed with the clever things people come up with, but I think rarely are the items worth having.

K- First of all- I love you!haha Second of all, why buy a snuggie when you can just snuggle up in a normal blanket and the sandwich thing, I'm pretty sure you could use a griddle and get the same result. And the hair thing.hahahaaha I've seen that infomercial and laughed. Next time I see you I'll teach you how to do that without the magnificent Bump It! It's pretty easy! Basically all these things in the infomercials you already can do or have in your home. They just make it look sooooo cool! I must say- When I saw the Sham-Wow commercial I was smitten and wanted one really bad and then I read what people had to say about them and decided it was a load of crap. Anyways, I wouldn't waste my money if I were you. Hope you're doing good! Are you so excited that the HILLS is having another season!???

Well... 2 days ago, David came home with a surprise exclusively for me... it was the Snuggie!!! Which I thought was hillarious. Alex tells me that I get to get one everytime he sees the commercial. But it really is a nice product. I love that it's so big and I can wrap me and the kids in it while having my hands free to eat my King-size candy bar! The Snuggie rocks. I've never even heard of the Bump-it, but I would buy it right now if I could!

First off, Mikey and I are obsessed with the Snuggie so if you haven't already bought our wedding present.... 2 trips to Europe would be nice.

Second, who is that guy on the end, what is he selling and why does he slightly resemble an amphibian?

Hey Ashley, I just came across your blog! Don't buy the Sham WOW! My husband was fooled by the dork with the headset and they are worse than just a normal rag!

All I know is that my mother in law has one of those sandwich makers things and we make grilled cheese sanwiches and put anything we want in them and they are pretty good. I mean you can make one probably with just a pan but it's pretty cool to have them triangular. My friend has a Snuggie, got it for valentines day from her hubby and she absolutely loves it. Not sure if its just trendy and funny cause it's the SNUGGIE, but she seems to be quite taken with the thing! I am quite depressed about the remarks about the sham wow! I totally wanted some but won't buy them now cause of what other people have said. I hear that there are some at Costco that are like them that are good! Anyway you are awesome. Love you!
